Robert Adam Mayer
About the Client
Robert Adam Mayer — known throughout Hip-Hop’s inner circle as “Photo Rob” — is a New York-based photographer, videographer, and photojournalist with over 20 years of immersive documentary and portrait work. His images have appeared in The New York Times, Rolling Stone, XXL, Harvard Magazine, and People, and his street photography is permanently installed as a mural at the National 9/11 Museum. He has photographed JAY-Z, Nas, Kanye West, De La Soul, Q-Tip, Bill Hader, and Chrissy Teigen, among many others.
The Challenge
A career as wide-ranging as Photo Rob’s — editorial portraiture, music photography, music videos, corporate work, festival documentation — demands a site that can hold it all without feeling cluttered or unfocused. The goal was to present the full scope of his work in a way that speaks to different audiences: photo editors, art directors, record labels, and editorial clients, each looking for something specific.
What We Built
A clean, image-forward portfolio site built around Rob’s photography. Strong visual presentation of his portrait and editorial work, with clear sections for his biography, credits, and client history. The design steps back and lets the images lead — because when your subjects include JAY-Z, Nas, and a mural at the 9/11 Museum, the work speaks for itself.
The Result
A professional home worthy of a 20-year body of work — built for the editors, labels, and clients who need to find Photo Rob and know immediately they’re in the right place.
